In searching for imagery of Kate Moss and Alison Mosshart together, I got a lot of the word 'Frenemies' and cat fight thrown into the mix.
Why is it that two women cannot be friends according to the world's media? I know there is no story in women being friends. But why can't we all just get along?
Women are so critical of each other already. It doesn't help that we have the media telling us that our celebrities are fighting or worse then that, breaking down.
Do you ever notice that men very seldom have an emotional break down? but we are bombared with stories telling us that if women have a drink, they are totally messed up and heading for burn out. Now we do have examples where this is the case - Britney and Winehouse. But for the most of it, it's just celebrities doing what we do....get drunk on a Saturday night (just on cristal instead of buckfast like you and me) in their finest (which is not Penny's like you and me, but Couture McQueen) in hot places (LA, not costellos)
It's amazing that the media, and HEAT magazine are the worst for this, cannot present women as they actually are. Mind you, there is no money in it. But you do feel a bit cheated if you buy magazines like I used to. Devouring up to 3 monthly mags and 4 weeklies. It all adds up. Magazines make shit up. They have to. Because there is no money in reporting the truth - celebrities are boring. They eat, shit, fart and wear tracksuits like we all do from time to time. But who cares right?
We love a good catfight, and magazines LOVE to give it to us. We love the thought that fame and fortune might not give us what we all expect it does. That money might make us unhappy.
What do you reckon?
