- Before New Year's, the 17-year-old hit the beach in Miami with her boyfriend, Jack Gilinsky
- She was wearing white two piece, and when Jack picked her up, a period stain could be seen on her bottoms
- The moment was caught by paparazzi and people on the internet labeled her 'gross' and said she 'asking for it' by wearing white
- She hit back, saying that she was embarrassed but girls get periods and it shouldn't be such a big deal
Period stains are embarrassing for any woman, no matter how secure she is. But a period stain caught by the paparazzi and then pasted all over the internet? That's a nightmare.
A nightmare, though, that 17-year-old singer and Justin Bieber protégé Madison Beer handled with aplomb.
Last month, Madison hit the beach in Miami with her boyfriend Jack Gilinsky. She wore a cute white bikini for the occasion, which turned out not to be the best choice.
Getaway: Madison Beer vacationed in Miami Beach at the end of December
Uh-oh: While out with her boyfriend, her tampon leaked and left a red stain on her bikini
Chill out! People on the internet pointed it out and called her gross, and the 17-year-old has responded on social media
Paparazzi were on hand to catch Madison and Jack flirting and swimming in the water.
Madison showed off her figure in a white one-piece, which looked flawless until Aunt Flo decided to rear her ugly head. A bit of the teenager's period leaked through her swimsuit bottoms, casting a red stain underneath.
In a few paparazzi photos, circulated on social media, in which Jack is lifting Madison into the air, the stain can be seen clearly — something 'fans' noticed and commented on.
Some called the Mother Nature mishap 'gross', while at least one even accused Madison of deserving the humiliation for wearing white while menstruating in the first place.
Wise words: She said she definitely didn't do it on purpose because it was embarrassing, but people need to relax because periods are normal
She was with her boyfriend Jack Gilinsky, who had one point lifted her up and inadvertently revealed the stain
Smart girl: Madison called it 'wild' that people made such a big deal about something that is natural
Madison, though, didn't take the unfair criticism lightly, joining the comments on an Instagram photo to teach people a thing or two.
'This is so wild that this is a big deal to some people. Girls get their periods, she wrote.
'Girls sometimes bleed thru tampons because periods can be extremely unpredictable!! If you're saying it's gross, uncleanly, etc etc u should probs get your head outta your ass and focus on bigger damn issues other than someone having a period stain.
'I am not a robot. I am female. I am human. & I am proud.,' she went on.
Nice gesture: The agency that took the pictures later removed the frames from circulation
Famous friends: Madison is signed to the same label as Justin Bieber
When someone said she was 'asking for a stain', she hit back again.
'I just laugh so hard at the people who say "she wore white on purpose! She did this for attention!"' she said. 'Like what girl wouldn't be embarrassed from their period leaking????? ESPECIALLY leaking on the internet and having thousands of people make fun of u.
'Do you reeeeally in your mind believe that I went to the beach and said "omg jack pick me up so people can see i got my period omg that'll get me so much attention...." like who tf in their right mind would ever.... so ignorant ridiculous and immature. pretty crazy.'
Though the photos have been circulating a bit on social media, it seems that the photo agency that snapped them realized their error and removed them from their website.
