A belated Happy Easter and Passover to you all. I hope you had a blessed and enjoyable day.
We were fortunate enough to have all of our children and grandchildren here for brunch... fourteen in all! I had great intentions of taking photographs of the food and the table, and I started out on the right path...
I made the fruit pizza and the giant Rice Krispie Treat Easter egg Saturday night so I managed to remember to take photos of those...
...and that's all I remembered! Grrrr... I had purchased a brand new, white, still in the package tablecloth at the thrift store in January and used that to cover the table. I set the table with pink flowered plates that were a gift from my best friend's mom. These flowers were the centerpiece...
They were my birthday flowers from last week. The red tulips were gone as the petals had fallen off but the rest of the flowers were fine and made a lovely centerpiece. And two of my grandsons helped me make some Origami bunnies for the table..
The table really looked very nice, but I guess you'll just have to take my word for it... sigh.
We used to have family dinners on most Sundays, but we haven't had one in quite some time so I was looking forward to having all of the family here. One of our grandsons requires a gluten free diet so I tried to make as many gluten free foods as I could. We had pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage (holy pork products!), home fries, fruit and dip, asparagus, cinnamon rolls, fruit pizza and the Rice Krispie Easter egg... that we didn't eat! The only thing that wasn't gluten free was the cinnamon rolls... I just couldn't figure those out. Gluten free meal prep is a challenge but once I did a little research it wasn't as difficult as I had anticipated. It was so worth the effort for our grandson to be able to eat all the same food that everyone else was eating.
After we ate all six of the grands (ages almost one year to nine years old) went outside to play. It was very cold, about 35 degrees, but almost all of the snow in the backyard has melted and they couldn't wait to get out in the sandbox and play on the swing set. They all get along so well and are so well behaved, it's a joy to have them around.
Goodness, but they had fun! I hope your Sunday was as pleasant and fun as ours!
Thanks for dropping by!
