Henry Morton Stanley was sent to Africa to find the lost Dr Livingstone.
Upon finally finding him, it is believed he said “ Dr Livingstone, I presume…”,a quote that has been immortalized in history.
Stanley’s travels took him from Zanzibar all the way up the mouth of the Nile, and he is considered to be one of the greatest European explorers of the 19th Century.
