Interview: Graham Wade - Christian comics pioneer

Despite its long history, Christian comics publishing tends to 'fly under the radar' insofar as most mainstream comic fans and publishers go. Generating print runs and reaching audiences that many contemporary comic publishers can only dream of, Christian comics continue to attest to the communicative strengths of the comic book medium.

One of the pioneers in this diverse field is the Australian writer and artist, Graham Wade, who has adapted the popular Jungle Doctor series, created by the Australian missionary and physician, Paul White, into a popular series of comic strip serials and colour comic books over several decades.

My interview with Graham Wade not only throws the spotlight onto his own career, which has been fuelled by his passionate commitment to Christianity, but also draws back the curtain on an aspect of modern-day comics publishing that is rarely seen by 'most comics' fans.
